Road Construction

 
The following is a brief summary of the anticipated major Road Projects for the 2021 construction season.  More specific information will be added throughout the construction season as it becomes available.

County Road 2 Rehabilitation - Concrete Overlay
Location:  Between Sibley County and 10th Street in Glencoe

Anticipated Start of Construction
: Project is complete         

Anticipated Open to Traffic
: The road is open effective July 30

Contractor: Shafer Contracting of Shafer, MN
 
This project includes milling off some of the existing pavement, and placing a new concrete surface.  The new road will have 12' driving lanes and same shoulder width but 4' of it will be concrete.  During construction the road will be closed to all thru traffic, but access will be maintained for individuals living along or doing business along the road.  The project is funded with State Aid funds and Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) funds.


County Road 3 Rehabilitation - Concrete Overlay
Location:  Between TH 15 and CR 75 (Nature Avenue)

Anticipated Start of Construction
: Project is complete         

Anticipated Open to Traffic
: The road is open effective July 30

County Road 15 Rehabilitation - Concrete Overlay
Location:  Between 16th Street in Glencoe and CR 3

Anticipated Start of Construction
: Project is complete         

Anticipated Open to Traffic
: The road is open between CR 3 and the entrance to the Glencoe Silver Lake ball diamond complex, effective July 30

CR 15 (Morningside Ave) Reconstruction
Location:  Between 11th Street and 16th Street in Glencoe

Anticipated Start of Construction
: July 27, 2020             

Anticipated Open to Traffic
: Project is open to traffic.  There is minor work remaining.

Contractor: Duininck, Inc. Prinsburg, MN
 
This project includes the removal of existing pavement, subsurface soils corrections, horizontal and vertical curve adjustments, installation of a new railroad crossing, construction of a new roundabout at 16th Street and new bituminous pavement.  During construction the road will be closed to all thru traffic, but access will be maintained for individuals living along or doing business along the road.  The project is funded with a combination of State Bonding, Municipal and County State Aid, and City funds.
2021 Seal Coat
Location:  Various County Roads - see MAP

Anticipated Start of Construction
: Project is complete             

Anticipated Open to Traffic
: No road closures, traffic will be directed with pilot cars and should expect minor delays.

Contractor: ASTECH  St. Cloud, MN
 
The 2021 Seal Coat contract includes seal coating and pavement marking on 21 miles of the following County Roads: 5, 6, 9, 16, 61, 77, 85, and 116.  The project includes pavement marking on various other County Roads.  The project will be paid for using Local funds.


6" Pavement Marking
Location:  Various County Roads - see MAP

Anticipated Start of Construction: Flexible start date between June 1 and October 1, project has a maximum of 10 days to be completed.  

Anticipated Open to Traffic: No road closures

Contractor: Sir Lines Alot

This project includes 6" pavement marking on various County Roads.  The project is funded with Federal Safety Funds (HSIP) and Local funds.
