Family Child Care Orientation
McLeod County Family Child Care Licensing operates as an agent of the Minnesota Department of Human Services, and is responsible for licensing Family Child Care homes in McLeod County.
The family child care licensing process in McLeod County starts with the Family Child Care Orientation. There are no group orientation classes scheduled currently. If you are interested in potentially being licensed to provide family child care, please contact Amy Berry to set up an individual orientation time. All the initial paperwork is distributed at the orientation. There is no fee to attend the orientation.

The entire licensing process can take up to three months or longer. There is a $50.00 licensing fee due at the time the application is submitted. Background studies, references, and home inspections are required in order to complete the licensing process. Laws regarding family child care provider regulations are defined in Minnesota Statute 245A and Minnesota Rule Chapter 9502.
