McLeod County Health and Human Services provides voluntary services to adults who have a serious, persistent mental illness and who meet certain guidelines for services.

What Is Mental Illness?Mental illness occurs when a person has a biochemical brain disorder that affects thinking, emotions and possibly their ability to manage their daily living.  Depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anxiety disorders are common mental health diagnoses.  Mental illness can affect people of all ages, races and genders.

How Can We Help?McLeod County Health and Human Services can assist you in finding a qualified mental health professional to complete a diagnostic assessment and will work with your mental health professional to gather the necessary paperwork to determine eligibility to receive services.

A Case Manager will assist you in gaining access to medical, social, educational, vocational and other necessary services as they relate to your needs.

Our Community Support Services Program can help you remain in the community by offering you support, providing medication monitoring, assisting with independent living skills and crisis assistance.
