McLeod County Environmental Services is responsible for Solid Waste, which includes a variety of programs including the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, mobile collections, curbside recycling, drop-box and rural recycling locations, public education on various solid waste abatement topics, solid waste licensing and permitting, Solid Waste Ordinance coordination and enforcement, landfill surcharges, problem material management (fluorescent bulbs, tires, appliances, electronics, empty pesticide containers, etc.), and source reduction.
Single-Sort Recycling
All acceptable recyclable material can be co-mingled in the new green/tan recycling cart. Recycling collection will still take place on your designated refuse/organics collection day, with the exception that, recycling collection is every other week.
Household Hazardous Waste & Problem Material Disposal
Bring your household hazardous wastes and problem materials to the McLeod County Household Hazardous Waste facility year round for proper disposal. Visit the free Reuse Center to find materials for your next painting project!
